The Park-Hopper promotion is good for a 4-Day or 5-Day Park Hopper ticket, which gives you access to all four Disney World parks. You can also buy an add-on to be able to visit the Disney water parks. These prices vary.
2021 Valid Dates:
Purchase for visits good now through December 17, 2021. You also have the option of adding a water park option for an additional $30, plus tax as well as the Memory Maker PhotoPass product for $98. (2021 Details).

- With the Park Hopper Plus Option: $326 plus tax
5-Day Military Promotional Tickets
- With the Park Hopper Option: $315 plus tax
- With the Park Hopper Plus Option: $345 plus tax
Where to Buy Military Park Hopper Tickets:
Disney Military Promotional Tickets may be only purchased at participating U.S. military sales locations, and can only be purchased by the servicemember, or their spouse (but not both), for use by themselves and other family members and friends.
Up to 6 tickets may be purchased at these discounted rates, however, the tickets may not be sold or transferred, so be sure to only buy what you will use! As a security feature, these promotional tickets are not valid until activated by eligible service members or their spouse at a Disney World theme park ticket window.
The Disney website states, “The actual prices charged at the individual U.S. military base ticket offices for Disney Military Promotional Tickets may be less than the prices set forth above.” There are no guarantees your local base will offer these tickets for less than the stated price, but that would be a nice bonus!
Redeeming Your Disney Military Vouchers for Park Hopper Passes
The Disney World military discounts are in the form of a voucher, which must be redeemed for the actual tickets. The image below is of one of the vouchers.
My wife and I took advantage of the Disney military discounts this year. It works like this: You visit your base ITT Office and buy the ticket vouchers from them. We had to pay a shipping fee to receive the ticket vouchers. I don’t remember the exact cost of the shipping fee, but it wasn’t much (between $10-$15). We received our Disney Ticket Vouchers about a week later. This is important to note since we didn’t receive the vouchers that day.
It may be possible to get vouchers the same day, depending on where you make the purchase. The Shades of Green resort has a ticket sales office and I believe you can get the tickets the same day if your buy them there.
Once you have your ticket vouchers, you must redeem them for the actual Disney Park Hopper Passes. This must be done at one of the approved Disney Ticket offices (the voucher should state where to redeem them for the actual tickets). Your vouchers can only be redeemed by the military member of spouse, so make sure one of you is there, and bring your military ID card to prove eligibility! We had our entire family, which made it easy. Once you have your tickets, you’re good to enter the parks.
Note: Activate your tickets the day or night before you plan on visiting the parks!
We redeemed our ticket vouchers the night before we planned to enter the parks, that way we had our tickets first thing in the morning, so we wouldn’t have to waste time redeeming the vouchers and getting our tickets set up. This is a good idea, since the lines can be long on some mornings. You also want to be able to go straight into the parks when they open so you can hit one of your favorite rides without having to wait in a long line.
Fine Print and Exclusions
As mentioned above, you or your spouse can buy up to 6 total tickets, however, they cannot be transferred. In previous years there were blackout dates for some parks or experiences. The website does not show any blackout dates for 2020, but be sure to verify this before making your reservations. (Pro Tip: there are many helpful crowd calculator websites out there to help you pick the right dates for your family!)
Expiration dates and other fine print:
- Valid military identification will be required for purchase and use. Tickets must be activated at Walt Disney World theme park ticket windows.
- Tickets and options are only good for the year in which they were purchased. There is an expiration date, so be aware of this when making your purchase.
- No more than six (6) Disney Military Promotional Tickets may be purchased and (if applicable) activated by any Eligible Service Member or spouse (regardless of the place of purchase and whether purchased by that person or that person’s spouse).
- In addition, one of the six (6) Tickets purchased must be used by the Eligible Service Member or his/her spouse.
- Each Disney Military Promotional Ticket must be used by the same person on any and all days.

Shades of Green – Disney’s Military Hotel
Orlando area hotels are typically very expensive. A good way to save money is to stay at the Shades of Green Resort, a military-owned resort located at Walt Disney World. They offer more affordable rates than other Disney Resorts, as well as free shuttle transportation to the Disney World Theme parks and Disney Springs (formerly known as Downtown Disney). There are also shuttles to other Orlando area attractions for a reasonable fee.
My wife and I stayed at the Shades of Green Resort and found it to be the best of both worlds – very affordable, and close to the Disney World action. Shades of Green is located a 10-minute walk from the Polynesian Resort, which is two Monorail stops from the Magic Kingdom. That makes it very easy to get to the Magic Kingdom or the Disney World Ticket and Transportation Center, for easy access to Epcot.
Shades of Green has a lot to offer, including two pools, several restaurants, tennis, easy access to Disney World, the Disney World golf courses, and much more. You can learn more in our Shades of Green podcast and review. Visit the Shades of Green website for more information about rates and availability.
Military Discounts at Disney Hotels
Disney also offers military discounts to military members, retirees, and their spouses. Discounts can be up to 20-30% off regular rates. However, the number of rooms is limited, there may be length of stay requirements, and blackout dates may apply. Valid military ID is required. It’s best to contact Disney customer service to learn more about current offers.
Disney Military Cruise Discounts
These discounts vary by season, destination, which cruise ship, and other factors. Discounts are often announced with short notice (30 – 60 days out), so it is recommended to check back frequently. Here is the Disney Cruise Line Military Discount page. Unsure if your desired port stop is an approved destination? Check out the Department of State Travel Advisories page.
More Military Discounts, Theme Parks, & Travel Savings
Here are some more savings you may find helpful:
- Military & Veteran Travel Discounts. (check out the military discounts for Disney World’s Shades of Green Resort).
- Free Event Tickets – Vet Tix – Veteran Tickets Foundation.
- Military Discounts.
- Armed Forces Vacation Club Discounts.

How does redeeming the park vouchers work now that Disney has the park reservation system?
Suzie Brewer says
There is a new things now that is going to allow any service connected disabled veteran access to commissaries, exchanges, and MWR. Does that mean that they would be able to get the same discounts on tickets as others. Some of the language of that bill seems to say that any service connected veteran should have access to the same shopping discounts as retirees and those who are 100% disabled. I know it does not start until 2020, but it would be awesome to know because we really want to travel, and that would help so much.
Ryan Guina says
Hello Suzie,
Base policies for shopping at the Commissaries, Exchanges, and using the MWR centers are determined at the federal level. Individual companies and organizations determine their individual military discount policies. Because of this, I cannot speak for Disney World’s plans to extend military discounts beyond their current offers. You would need to contact the Disney World customer support office for more information.
I wish you and your family the best.
VINCENT RUPPERT says
I see your promo has left out Disabled American Veterans. Can you explain this?
Ryan says
I think its ridiculous that they only offer to active or retired Im a military veteran that served in Iraq and am currently 60% and that took years for me to get that. and its sad to see that a spouse who has never served can get that salute discount before a veteran who has actually served.
Eric von Tish says
There is an opportunity in Honolulu, Hawaii similar to Shades of Green. It’s the Hale Koa Hotel, and like Shades of Green it’s an Armed Forces Recreation Center resort hotel located on Waikiki Beach and owned by the United States Department of Defense. It also fills up extremely quickly, so making reservations as far in advance as possible is a must.
Katie Cooper says
Hi. I’ve been trying to find someone who can tell me whether IRR reservists qualify for the Salute tickets. The sheet that lists acceptable ID cards shows one that looks like my green IRR card, but the title of it says “active status”. I’ve gotten conflicting answers when I call local military base ticket offices.
Thanks,
Katie
Matt says
Katie,
Did you ever get an answer to this? I am in the same position.
Melissa Caldwell says
Hi, we are traveling to disney in april. My son is currently in guards so i know we are eligible for the salute package if it continues into 2017. My question is if we buy the 4 day hopper and water park passes does that mean 4 days total for everything. So we couldnt do 4 days at wdw parks and then another 4 days doing thw water parks and more?
Donna says
Four years ago, my retired military husband and I traveled across the country to DisneyWorld. Try as we might, we could not get into Shades of Green. It evidently fills up VERY fast!
We ended up staying at one of the budget-minded Disney Resorts (Pop Culture), at a very discounted rate, so we were happy. We could reach any of the parks via the Disney bus shuttles.
To get to Shades of Green ticket office from our hotel required a bus, then a monorail, then another bus. We did that to pick up discounted tickets to Universal’s Islands of Adventure, for Harry Potter World. Then, to get to Epcot, it took another bus and a monorail.
I say this so that others realize, Shades of Green has its own bus system and may or may not connect to every single Disney park. You may have to take it to the Transportation Center and then get on a different bus or monorail to get where you are going.

Dear Ryan,
I was wondering when Disney will be adding Discounts for Veterans? I was Honorably Discharged and have my Veteran ID Card and a DD214 showing this But Disney offers us no discount at all. I’m just interested in knowing because many Theme parks offer a % off, or order free tickets online limit 2-4, or offer something through IDme (which verify our info). I bring this up and hope that Disney would if away of extending this to Us Veterans since so many other places have in limited form.
Thank you for your time,
Jessica
Ryan Guina says
Hello Jessica, Thank you for contacting me. This is a Disney policy, and not something I have any insight into. The best I can do is recommend contacting Disney to see if they will extend the offer to all veterans. Sorry I can’t offer a better answer, but each company determines their own policies for military discounts.
PJ Stephens says
Ryan,
I am retired USAF IL & WI Guard retired vet. I was wondering if Disney Land was offering any military discount. On the 24th of May 2016, I will be laying to rest my mother’s remains at the LA Veteran’s Cemetery. My father was a Koran & WWII retired Marine and since my mother was his last spouse I plan to reunite them after death. While my spouse & I are in California
we plan to go to Disney Land to celebrate my parents lives, but was interested if I would be able to get any discounts at Disney land or lodging. My mother’s burial will be free, the travel cost & lodging is not always cheep. Could you assist?
Thanks PJ
Ryan Guina says
PJ, Thank you for contacting me, and I’m sorry to hear about your loss. Here is the Disneyland military discount page. You should find the info you need on this page. You may need to visit a military base ticket office to make the purchase. But call them to see if you can buy over the phone or in person if you do not live within reasonable driving distance of a military installation with a base ticket office. I hope this helps.
Pyper B. says
This is some great information! I am always looking for military discounts for my friends. A lot of military families don’t even know they can get discounts at places like this. Thanks!
Justin P says
Slightly off-topic but, Shades of Green is a great place to stay if you’re going to Disney. Nice hotel, inexpensive, shuttles to all the parks…can’t ask for much more.
Vicki Brown says
I have been looking at Disney. It states 100% disable veterans are also able for this discount I am not sure where to buy tickets: Disney Military Promotional Tickets may be only purchased at participating U.S. military sales locations, and can only be purchased by the servicemember, or their spouse (but not both), for use by themselves and other family members and friends. I am not close to a U.S. Military sales office as far as I can find. How can I get tickets?
Ryan Guina says
HI Vicki, Thanks for sharing the information about 100% disabled veterans being eligible for his offer. To be honest, I’m not sure how you can obtain the tickets if you are not close to am military installation. I would start by contacting Disney if possible. Then I would contact the closest base to you and ask if tickets can be purchased over the phone. If that doesn’t work, then I would look into a military installation near Orlando (there are several) and ask if they have tickets available for purchase. Then try to work that into your trip. You may want to plan an extra day in advance of your trip to make sure you have time to pick up the tickets. And try to purchase the tickets over the phone or online if possible, with the message that you will pick the tickets up in person before you need them – be sure to try and get copies of receipts if you are able to do this. If you are unable to buy them over the phone or online, then try to contact them in advance and let them know when you are coming so they will be sure to have tickets. Best of luck!
STEVE STARK says
Dear Sir: Sometimes you talk about qualifications to events good to: active or retired personnel. Does this include vets that served in the military during certain theaters of war? Some of us were not in combat but served state side or in a not combat zone. Are we included to some of these special offers? Thanking you in advance for your reply. STEVE (Army Vet 1966-1968)
Ryan Guina says
Steve, when the term “active or retired personnel” is used, it typically means persons currently serving in the military, or those who retired from military service after 20 years, or those who were medically retired. Those who serve honorably, but do not retire, are generally referred to as veterans. Some discounts and offers include all veterans, while others may be given only to those currently serving, or possibly to those who served long enough to become a military retiree. Each discount can be unique from others offered by other companies or corporations, so it’s best to read the terms and conditions to know if you are eligible or not. I hope this answers your question.
