Bass Pro Shops owns nearly 180 Bass Pro and Cabela’s stores nationwide, specializing in hunting, fishing, camping and outdoor merchandise.
Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris started his business selling fishing tackle out of his father’s Springfield, Missouri liquor store in 1972. His father was a World War II veteran, and Morris carried his respect for the military forward as his business expanded to employ more than 40,000 Americans in 47 states.
Veterans make up nearly 10% of Bass Pro employees, and the company participates in numerous veteran-focused charitable efforts. Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s also offer a year-round military discount at all their stores.
